| About Us: Meet the Staff |
Nancy Wright-Whatley, CSP
Before opening VantagePoint Staffing solutions, a certified Women's Business Enterprise, in December of 2006, Nancy Spent over 26 years in the staffing business. After graduating from college in 1981, Nancy spent six years with a global staffing company in positions ranging from Staff Supervisor, Territory Manager, Branch Manager to National Accounts Manager. She joined Georgia-Pacific Corporation in 1987 where she was the architect in creating Georgia TEMP, Inc., a new wholly owned subsidiary staffing company. During her tenure at GP, Nancy became the company’s consultant in areas of supplemental staffing and employment and developed policies and procedures for the staffing company.
Under Nancy's leadership, her company was selected as the vendor management organization for all IT vendors. At the request of Georgia-Pacific executives in the mid-1990s, Nancy consulted with Atlanta-based Delta Air Lines to establish the framework for their staffing service – a company which has now grown to rank among Atlanta's Top 25 Staffing Companies as published by the Atlanta Business Chronicle in 2006. In 1999, Nancy was instrumental in establishing one of the original Recruitment Process Outsourcing (RPO) strategies as Georgia-Pacific totally outsourced the non-exempt hiring process to Nancy’s company. This RPO process remains in place today and continues to be highly effective. While working for a public Fortune 100 company, she learned the requirements of Sarbanes-Oxley and applied the principles to all aspects of the staffing business. In 2003, Nancy led the initiative to change the name of Georgia TEMP to Encadria Staffing Solutions, creating an entirely new branding and sales campaign which resulted in Encadria’s growth into a successful multi-million dollar staffing firm for hundreds of companies outside of GP. Nancy was selected as one of ten "Women of Achievement" in 1995 by Georgia-Pacific Corporation for outstanding accomplishment of company goals.
As Chief Executive Officer and Managing Principal for VantagePoint Staffing Solutions, Nancy was a finalist in the NAWBO-Atlanta Women Entrepreneur Awards in the "Rising Star" category for 2008. The Rising Star award represents Women Business Owners who have owned their business for 1-2 years and have achieved exceptional new business start-up results, including projected revenue goals, executing successful marketing awareness, creating business exposure in the market place and demonstrating business leadership in her community.
Native to Atlanta, she has a Bachelor of Business Administration in Human Resources Management from the University of Georgia and is an active member of the American Staffing Association and the Georgia Staffing Association, holding several different Boards of Director and committee positions. She is an acting member of the American Staffing Association Information Committee, which was developed to foster better public understanding of the staffing industry and its important role in the economy.
Nancy and her husband Barry enjoy golf and she is a member of "Women on Course." She is a member of Vistage, the world's largest CEO Organization, serves on the Board of Directors of the University of Georgia Alumni Association and the National Association of Women Business Owners Atlanta Chapter.
